Stress Management Counselling and Therapy
Stress is a normal part of life. It can be due to many factors and has wide-ranging effects on the body, mind, and emotions.
- Stress is a physical or mental reaction to an adverse stimulus (something that threatens your well-being).
- What is stress? The term ‘stress’ can refer to two things: 1) the condition of being under strain or pressure; 2) a state of mental or emotional tension resulting from adverse circumstances such as pain or danger. When you experience one type of stress, your body responds with physical changes to cope effectively; this is called eustress (good stress). However, when an individual experiences chronic distress due to external pressures (such as work deadlines), it becomes distressful—this is known as distressful stress. The former may lead you to make good decisions that help your overall well-being, while the latter may cause problems if not adequately managed over time.
Workplace Bullying
Workplace bullying is when a person or group at work repeatedly mistreat you, making your work life difficult and unpleasant. Workplace bullying can happen to anyone in any job. Still, it’s especially common for those working in high-stress environments with few opportunities to escape from the bullies’ harassment. Bullying is more than just teasing or threatening behaviour—it involves repeated verbal abuse and psychological intimidation that makes going to work every day a nightmare for the victim. Those exposed to workplace bullying experience higher levels of stress and anxiety than those who do not, which leads to health problems such as depression and heart disease. If you feel like you’re being bullied at work, talk about it with someone confidentially right away (such as your manager). If that doesn’t help, seek counselling services or other forms of support from outside sources like family members or friends until things get better on their own without anyone else’s input coming into play during this period when needed most!

My name is Keryl Egan. I am a counsellor, therapist and stress management coach with over 15 years of experience helping people to manage stress and deal with the impact of workplace bullying. If you are experiencing high levels of stress and anxiety at work or in your personal life, I can help you to find ways to reduce this so that you can manage your feelings better. In addition to offering psychotherapy and counselling sydney services in person, by phone or by Skype video calls – depending on your preference – I also provide training programs that teach coping skills for dealing with stressful situations at work or home. These sessions will help you feel more confident when dealing with complex problems and help you in recovery from workplace bullying so that you don’t have a negative impact on your mental health. In addition to my private practice work in Sydney (Australia), I teach online courses through online platforms like Udemy, which provide continuing professional development units (CPE) for counsellors wanting additional training beyond their initial coursework requirements from an accredited university degree program. Such as psychology or social work degrees from Australia’s top universities such as UNSW Sydney University, where both my Bachelor’s Degree & Masters’s Degree graduate degrees were completed under their outstanding faculty members’ supervision over 20 years ago!”

You don’t have to live with being under pressure all the time.
You don’t have to live with being under pressure all the time. There are many ways to manage stress, and you need to know that you’re not alone. You can control stress by learning to relax, de-stress, and communicate better with others. When we are stressed out or overwhelmed by situations in our life that cause us distress, the body reacts automatically by releasing hormones such as adrenaline into the bloodstream. These hormones help us prepare ourselves physically for a fight or flight response so that we can deal with an immediate threat efficiently. However, when stress becomes chronic (meaning it occurs over an extended period). These hormones can wreak havoc on our health if released too often or at too high levels, leading to serious health issues like hypertension (high blood pressure), heart disease, diabetes mellitus type 2, etcetera!
